Where to take the ferry from Venice to Poreč?
Ferries to Croatia depart from the San Basilio Passenger Terminal located in the Zattere area of the port of Venice.
The ferry terminal is just a 15-minute walk from the city center. Alternatively, you can easily reach it using public transportation from Santa Lucia Railway Station, Tronchetto Island, and Piazzale Roma.
The terminal is very large, with various amenities, such as a waiting room, restrooms, as well as vending machines.
How to get to the port of Venice
- By car: from the A4 motorway (Milan-Trieste) or the A13 motorway (from Bologna), follow the signs to Venice, cross the Ponte della Libertà (Liberty Bridge), and head to the parking facilities at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto. From there, the People Mover takes you directly to the Marittima ferry terminal in just a few minutes.
- By public bus: ACTV, ATVO, and FlixBus services arrive at the Piazzale Roma bus terminal, just a short walk from the Marittima ferry terminal, which can also be reached via the People Mover.
- By train: get off at Venice Santa Lucia, the city's only railway station in the historic center. From there, you can reach the Marittima ferry terminal via the People Mover (through Piazzale Roma) or on foot in around 20 min. Venice Mestre station, located on the mainland, is a major railway hub with onward connections by train, bus, or taxi.
- By plane: Venice Marco Polo Airport, located around 13 km away, is connected to Piazzale Roma by ACTV and ATVO shuttle buses (express services), or by water via Alilaguna water buses. Alternatively, Treviso Airport serves many low-cost flights and offers direct bus connections to Venice.
