Where to take the ferry from Venice to the Umag?
Ferries to Umag normally depart from the San Basilio Passenger Terminal, in the Zattere area of the port of Venice.
You can reach the terminal by public transport from Santa Lucia Railway Station, Tronchetto Island and Piazzale Roma. If you arrive in Venice by car, keep in mind that there are no roads in the historic center, so you will need to leave your vehicle in one of the paid parking areas near Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.

- By car: from the A4 motorway (Milan - Trieste) or the A13 motorway (from Bologna), follow the signs for Venice, cross the Ponte della Libertà bridge and head to the parking areas at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto. From there, the People Mover takes you directly to the Marittima ferry terminal in just a few minutes.
- By bus: ACTV, ATVO and FlixBus services stop at Piazzale Roma, just a short walk from the Marittima ferry terminal, which can also be reached via the People Mover.
- By train: from Venice Santa Lucia railway station, located in the historic center, you can reach the Marittima ferry terminal by People Mover (via Piazzale Roma) or on foot in about 20 min. If you arrive at Venice Mestre railway station on the mainland, you can take a bus to Piazzale Roma.
- By plane: Venice Marco Polo Airport, located about 13 km away, is connected to Piazzale Roma by ACTV and ATVO shuttle buses (including express services), as well as by Alilaguna water buses. Alternatively, Treviso Airport serves many low-cost flights and offers direct bus connections to Venice.
