Ferryhopper Ticket Price Index for Q2 2026
The Ferryhopper Ticket Price Index tracks average economy ferry ticket prices for one passenger across Ferryhopper's key European markets and is published quarterly as a reference for travellers, the media and the tourism industry.
Markets covered: Italy, Spain & Croatia
Key Findings:
- Average ferry ticket prices across the three European ferry markets analysed by Ferryhopper increased by 9.4% year-on-year in Q2 2026, according to the Ferryhopper Ticket Price Index.
- The markets analysed recorded year-on-year increases. Croatia (+16.1%) and Spain (+12.4%) saw the strongest growth, while Italy (+7.4%) experienced more moderate growth.
- One of the clearest findings is that national averages often conceal significant regional differences. While every market recorded overall price growth, several major regions moved in the opposite direction, including Corsica in Italy and the Balearic Islands in Spain. This suggests that travellers' experiences can differ considerably depending on the destination and route they choose.
- At route level, price adjustments were selective rather than widespread. While some high- volume routes recorded double- digit increases, many of Europe’s busiest ferry connections remained broadly stable or became even more affordable compared to Q2 2025. This demonstrates that overall market growth did not translate into uniform fare increases across all routes.

Christos Spatharakis, CEO of Ferryhopper commented: “Our latest data confirms that ferry pricing continues to evolve differently across European markets. While average ticket prices increased overall in Q2, local demand, route networks and operator pricing strategies continue to shape each market in different ways. At the same time, travelers have more opportunities than ever to compare routes, operators and departure dates, making it easier to find the option that best matches their budget and travel plans.”
